Q. How long have you been in business?
A. 15+ years. When it comes to your child’s happiness we are experts. EXPERIENCE counts!
Q. How long is the character at my party?
A. All Wish Upon A Star shows are designed to be one hour long.
Q. May I book my Entertainer for additional time?
A. Yes you certainly may book shows for longer than one hour. Additional fees & deposits will apply. However, keep in mind that we have tailored our shows for around 20 children or less, so there may not be a need to book additional time. We pack alot into our shows giving you the most for your money!
Q. What if I have more than 20 children at my party?
A. Not a problem for your Entertainer! If you book a clown/princess and have more than 20 children; your Entertainer may ask you for your preference? Would you like for her to focus on facepainting or balloons/tattoos? On average it may take up to 2 min per child for facepainting.
Q. Will our entertainer be able to include all of the kids at the party?
A. This is a great question! Our entertainers do a great job of entering the party in a very commanding, charming, and cute way and then do their best to round-up all of the kids to participate. With that said, there will always be at least one or two kids who will either be shy, scared, or “too cool” to play along, but your entertainer will be welcoming and encouraging throughout his or her time at your party and will, more than likely, have something in their repertoire of activities for everyone.
*Please also note that if you plan on having a bouncer at your event, that even the best entertainers may have a hard time coaxing the kids out of it to play with him or her; if you want your entertainer to be “the star of the show,” we recommend at least deflating your bouncer while he or she is playing with the kids.
Q. Do you do birthday parties at the park?
A. We cater to park parties all the time. We only require you to tell us what Area/Corner of the park you will be using. Your performer will be carrying many things so please be considerate and plan your party close to parking. Please consider discussing with your entertainer an easy way to identify your party such as an identifiable balloon tied to a table or banner etc. Also, you may want to reserve a room in the rec. center (if your park has one) especially during the rainy season of December to April. We can also reschedule your event to another, mutually agreed-upon, available date and time.
Q. How much room do you need for your shows?
A. That really depends on the number a kids you’re expecting at the party. Usually from our experience a normal sized living room with all the furniture moved to sides will be enough for fewer than twenty kids. If you’re expecting over twenty kids you might want to consider the backyard. If the weather is not on your side that day then a spacious garage is always a great option.
Q. Should we tip our entertainer?
A. We like to say that gratuities are accepted, but never expected, so we’ll leave it up to you — if you loved your entertainer and would like to tip, please feel free to do so at your discretion.
Q. What happens if the forecast calls for rain? Can our entertainer perform indoors? Would we need to reschedule?
A. We suggest having a back-up location nearby to your original party location if it should rain during the event. If you are planning on having the entertainer perform in your yard, it is no problem to move the party indoors if needed; for the most part, we can work in whatever space you give us.
Q. When should I book for my party?
A. Most parents book with Wish Upon A Star for Kids at least 3 to 4 weeks in advance of their party. This ensures they get the time slot they would like.
Q. What if my party is this week?
A. Give us a call! We will do our best to look at our calendar for any openings. If there is any way we can accommodate you we will! We would love to do your party!
Q. How many days a week are characters available?
A.
Seven days a week!
Sunday through Friday: Anytime!
Saturday: 11:30, 1:30, 3:30, 5:30, 7:30
If possible we may be able to be flexible on Saturdays. (We always recommend you bring your child’s favorite character in at least 1/2 hour to 1 hour after your party starts so all your guests will be there for the show. Example) If you book a character at 11:30; start your party at 11:00 or sooner.)
Q. What are your OFFICE hours?
